Managing Commitments

Commitments delineate the structure of all our lives to some degree. The amount or degree of one’s commitment doesn’t affect the necessity of managing it. Maturity can be defined as effectively managing one’s commitments. Commitments that are willingly fulfilled don’t need to be enforced. Restrictions are superfluous among self-regulating people. That’s why museums and theaters can get away with silk ropes rather than iron bars.
