Thoughts Are Stories
We think in stories. Like stories that are told, our thoughts can be either recited or improvised. They can be new and original, or they can be plagiarized. We can play the same ones over and over again, like a jukebox, or we can make them up as we go along.
There is no moral here, just a distinction.
“A belief is just a thought that you think over and over again.” – Robert Anton Wilson
“Any thought I have more than once is wasted.” – David Allen
