The Limits Of Rational Thought

Rational thought determines means, once ends have been established. It can’t determine ends. It lets you link cause and effect together in a consistent sequence of reasoning, but it can’t tell you where to begin or end. It can’t determine outcome or purpose, or give you a reason to live. It provides results and conclusions, but not passion or motivation. It is a meticulous servant, but an impotent master.
