Accepting Compliments

Another example of humbleness gone awry: deflecting compliments.  Either by denying them, downplaying them, or immediately returning them.

Just put yourself in the other person’s shoes.  When you give someone a compliment, are you hoping that it will be deflected or returned?  Or are you hoping that it will land?

According to the Golden Rule, then, the kindest thing you can do with a compliment is to accept it.
