Owning Your Stuff
“Owning your stuff” is new age lingo for being self-responsible. It means being honest with yourself about your own intentions and about the effects you are causing. It also means claiming responsibility for your own emotional responses. If you are owning your stuff, you are clear within yourself about what you are feeling and why, and what you want to do about it, and you are communicating your inner state consistently and authentically.
If you are blaming others for how you feel, you are not owning your stuff.
If you are blaming your actions on your feelings, you are not owning your stuff.
If your actions don’t align with your intentions, you are not owning your stuff.
If your intentions don’t align with your well-being, you are not owning your stuff.
If you are harboring a covert agenda, you are not owning your stuff.
How you feel, how you act, how you express, and the effects of causes you set in motion (once you are aware of them) are all your stuff. Own it.
