Why Not Give Someone An Easy Time?

December 17, 2013

Giving someone a hard time usually means saying or doing something just to get a rise out of them, for the payoff of our own amusement.  But the net payoff of this type of transaction is likely to be negative or zero, if you’re not completely selfish about how you calculate it.

Why not give someone an easy time instead?  It seems to me that if we gave each other an easy time instead of a hard time, things would be a lot…easier.  For all of us.
